INDIAN medicine has come to Andover with a clinic and wellness hub officially opening its doors to the general public.

Ayurveda Clinic & Wellness Centre was officially inaugurated on Saturday, September 6, to the delight of crowds, and with the help of Test Valley’s mayor, Gordon Bailey.

The business recently made headlines after offering traditional Ayurvedic head massage therapy at Andover’s World Street Party in August.

Director James Saviour said: “It feels absolutely incredible, like witnessing a long-nurtured vision blossom into reality.”

Mr Saviour, 65, said the inauguration, along with that of a yoga centre, was the culmination of a dream that had been “many years” in the making.

He said it was “born from my passion to bring authentic Ayurveda and yoga practices into the heart of our community.

“To finally open the doors is both humbling and exhilarating.”

He continued: “What makes it truly special is the overwhelming response we have already received.

“People are not only embracing these ancient traditions but also sharing how transformed they feel after just a few sessions.

“For me, this is more than just opening a business; it is about creating a sanctuary of healing, balance, and renewal.

“The launch of Ayurveda Clinic & Wellness Centre Ltd, alongside Ayurveda Yoga Centre Ltd, marks the beginning of a new chapter where holistic wellbeing, mindfulness, and natural healing can truly flourish together.”

The director was asked what it meant to have so many dignitaries and people to support the opening.

He said: “We were honoured to have our mayor, Cllr Gordon Bailey, officially cut the ribbon at the entrance, symbolically opening our new venture.

“Cllr Iris Andersen and Francis Lynn then lit the Nilavilakku, the traditional Kerala oil lamp, whose flame carries deep cultural and spiritual significance.

“Made of brass and lit with cotton wicks soaked in oil, the Nilavilakku represents purity, prosperity, and positivity, and is considered an auspicious beginning to any event.

“Guests also had the opportunity to attend a complimentary yoga session following the inauguration, which was met with great enthusiasm.”
